当时青年少年乐队的乐团前辈回忆说，金贤重在青少年乐队以帅气的外型赢得超过主唱的人气，而且与18岁的年纪不相符地，很会配合鼓拍等，音感很准，因此外号叫“刀拍”（注：像刀切的一样准）。
一方面，组合N.E.X.T的吉他手金世黄对金贤重的吉他演奏有很高的评价：演奏相当自然,甚至还看到有自信而有律动的演奏姿势,因此感觉乐器本身很舒服.

★ PG【成员朴政玟所起，说他屁股大，得到了大家的一致认同，m!pick!里贤重也有承认说自己的外号是屁股重，政玟在发短信的时候,直接称呼为屁股先生，我们是为了简单和文雅就用了拼音的第一个字,简称PG】
★四次元【这个可是最公认的，其中一个例子：当四次元遇上四次元之Tablo与金贤重。08年在某期Tablo的电台节目“梦想的Radio” 中，女嘉宾突然提起金贤重，说“金贤重君真是很纯真的样子， 因为金贤重君，真的很想跟B型男生交往呢。”然后满怀期待地对TABLO说：“哥哥周围没有像金贤重君那样的人么”TABLO沉吟下说：“嗯 周围像贤重的人...只有贤重一个，真的很奇特。”然后TABLO接着说：“虽然我也是传说中的四次元的人，但贤重真是比我更甚。有一次跟贤重两个人在谈话，旁边的英雄在中君是一头雾水，说根本听不懂两个人到底在讲什么= =... 接着TABLO说“提到贤重，自己突然想到一件事，让大家听一听。我有段时间一直想买马骑，因为不会开车（两个女嘉宾要疯掉），于是就四处打听哪里能买到；买到之后怎么办种种相关事宜。后来有一天跟贤重一起在路边摊上喝酒，贤重突然就对TABLO说自己最近很想买马，TABLO就大惊：“啊！ 我也想买！！” 顿时就是俞伯牙遇到钟子期的心情= = ‘啊！世界上还有跟我一样的人啊’然后贤重就说马从哪里买，买来之后要在哪里保管，等等是打听的清清楚楚详详细细的= =，于是TABLO就说“啊 这样将来说不定还会在路上骑着马遇见呢”但自己等下再一细想，“人家贤重骑马是骑白马的王子；自己骑的话仿佛就不是那么回事儿了= =”女嘉宾就发花痴“啊 金贤重君不管做什么都帅”】
★ET【四次元的延伸 [H.O.T的李在元(少爷的星球化脑袋，现在的贤重、在中，还有神话的大大都没敢上在元一半的四次元，李在元完全一外星球的）、然后是神话的ERIC（想不到大大是这么的ET的，躲在一旁一个小时动也不动就为了吓一下成员，躲的地方千奇百怪，躲在衣柜里、电脑桌下，房间，甚至浴缸！！真是的）、然后是金贤重！！在一系列的节目当中，这人分分秒秒都在抽，《我们结婚了》更不用说！在他这个ET四次元队长的长期熏陶下，其余四个成员都被他同化了】
