英语专业四级考试(TEM-4，TestforEnglishMajors-Band4)，全称为全国高校英语专业四级考试。自1991年起由中国大陆教育部实行，考察全国综合性大学英语专业学生。考试内容涵盖英语听、说、读、写四个方面。口试自1998年开始正式实施，需另行报名。
根据往年考试安排，英语专业四级考试时间(TEM-4)为每年4月第3个周六举行，今年的考试时间是6月19日。即英语专业四级考试时间为：上午8:30分。
对准备专业四级英语而言，最重要的环节就是背单词。可以买一本专业四级乱序的单词书，制定背单词计划。每天把掌握不熟练的单词抄写到笔记本上，以便加深记忆，随时复习巩固。
专业四级英语考试中占比重比较大的部分就是阅读，所谓得阅读者得专业四级。阅读需要依靠多写真题进行锻炼。刚开始准备专业四级的时候可以慢慢地做题，把总是写错的部分记录下来自我反思。一定要坚持一个星期写两三套完整的阅读，从练习中找到自己做题的感觉和习惯。考试前几周，要训练自己加快时间做题，根据自己的强弱项养成良好的时间分配的习惯。建议一天或两天一套真题。
